The Records Management Database (RMDB) was created to easily catalogue and retrieve hardcopy information. It is built in Microsoft Access and will run in 2003 and 2007. The main Switchboard is where all the Users and the Administrator will work from; no work is really required in the background Access program. Everything is push-button ready, with minimal input required to retrieve Reports once information is in the database.

The bulk of the time to get the RMDB up and running is spent on the information hierarchy decisions your company must make to create the File Index Sheets. The best way to approach this is to look at the existing hierarchy on the LAN, and decide if it's working to its best ability or not. Once the File Index Sheets are decided upon, the integration can begin. The Administrator then updates and maintains the database with file information from the Users, using a web-based program to create the labels for the files.
